These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Stat Labow's website and services. By accessing our website or enrolling in our courses, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

  • "Stat Labow", "we", "us", "our" refers to Stat Labow, a statistical training organization operating in Singapore
  • "Services" refers to courses, training programs, and educational services provided by Stat Labow
  • "User", "you", "your" means any person accessing our website or using our services
  • "Content" includes all text, images, course materials, and resources provided
  • "Website" refers to the Stat Labow website and all associated pages
  • "Course" means any statistical training program offered by Stat Labow

2. Use of Services

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to enroll in our courses. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.

2.2 Account Registration

When enrolling in courses, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information as necessary
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

2.3 Acceptable Use

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Share course materials or content with unauthorized parties
  • Use our services to transmit harmful or malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with other users' access to services
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation

3. Course Enrollment and Attendance

3.1 Enrollment Process

Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Course availability is subject to minimum enrollment numbers. We reserve the right to cancel courses that do not meet minimum enrollment requirements, with full refunds issued.

3.2 Prerequisites

Some courses have prerequisite requirements. You are responsible for ensuring you meet these requirements before enrolling. We may deny enrollment or request withdrawal if prerequisites are not met.

3.3 Attendance Requirements

Regular attendance is expected for all enrolled courses. Students must attend at least 80% of sessions to receive a certificate of completion. Absences should be communicated in advance when possible.

3.4 Course Materials

Course materials are provided for personal educational use only. Materials remain the intellectual property of Stat Labow and may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without written permission.

4. Payment and Fees

4.1 Course Fees

Course fees are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and include all course materials and resources. Fees do not include costs for optional textbooks, software licenses, or external resources unless explicitly stated.

4.2 Payment Terms

Full payment is required before the course start date unless alternative arrangements have been made in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card, or other approved methods.

4.3 Late Payment

Failure to complete payment by the course start date may result in cancellation of enrollment. A late payment fee of SGD 50 may be charged for payments received after the due date.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1 Student Cancellation

  • Before course starts: Full refund if cancelled at least 14 days before the course start date
  • 7-13 days before start: 50% refund of course fees
  • Less than 7 days before start: No refund
  • After course starts: Prorated refund available only through the first 25% of course duration, minus SGD 200 administrative fee

5.2 Course Cancellation by Stat Labow

If we cancel a course for any reason, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer enrollment to another course session within one year.

5.3 Refund Processing

Refunds are processed within 14 business days of approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

5.4 Course Transfer

Students may transfer enrollment to a future session of the same course at no charge if requested at least 7 days before the course start date. Transfers to different courses may incur additional fees.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Our Content

All content on our website and in our courses, including text, graphics, logos, course materials, and software, is owned by Stat Labow or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use course materials for your personal educational purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written permission.

6.3 Student Work

You retain ownership of work you create as part of course assignments. By submitting work, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use it for educational and evaluative purposes.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

7.1 Educational Service

Our courses provide educational training in statistical methods. We do not guarantee specific career outcomes, job placement, salary increases, or other professional results. Success depends on individual effort, prior knowledge, and external factors beyond our control.

7.2 No Warranties

Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, Stat Labow's liability is limited to the amount of fees paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

7.4 Professional Application

Students are responsible for applying statistical methods appropriately in their professional contexts. Course content reflects current best practices but should not substitute for professional statistical consultation on critical matters.

8. Code of Conduct

Students are expected to:

  • Treat instructors and fellow students with respect
  • Participate actively and constructively in discussions
  • Complete assignments honestly without plagiarism
  • Maintain confidentiality of other students' personal information
  • Follow academic integrity standards

Violations of the code of conduct may result in dismissal from courses without refund.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by Stat Labow

We may terminate your enrollment or access to services immediately if you violate these terms, engage in disruptive behavior, or fail to pay required fees.

9.2 Effects of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access course materials and services ceases immediately. Provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive termination.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Informal Resolution

In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to seek informal resolution. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication.

10.2 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Singapore courts.

10.3 Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes may be submitted to arbitration under the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) rules before proceeding to litigation.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through email notification and website posting. Changes become effective 30 days after notification unless you are actively enrolled in a course, in which case the terms at enrollment continue to apply.

Continued use of services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

12. General Provisions

12.1 Entire Agreement

These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Stat Labow regarding use of our services, superseding any prior agreements.

12.2 Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

12.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.

12.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms. We may assign our rights and obligations to any party.
